Hi Ford lovers..how is ya
My 6 cyl AU auto is being a b**ch.
Do I need a new box if it is what I call flaring between gears. It revs as if the clutch is slipping in a manual, and takes for ever to pop into third from second. ould this just be a service issue such as the bands needing adjustment or am I thinking back to the 80's which is the last time I had and auto.
If I do need another box should I stay with the riginal or is there a box that someone recomends that isn't going to cost me more than 500 second hand

Am doing that first when Iget back from my honeymoon. Off on a cruise ship to NZ for two weeks as of the 20th.
Asked about the terminal factor as was told it is either electrical or terminal

The major problem with doing that is that I have a crook back. I wear a morphine patch 27/7 for the pain. Makes life hard when I wanna do stuff like checking the fluid level in the box.
What ever happened to the good old dipstick. lol
I am pretty sure that the level is right though because there are no leaks from the box or from the front of the belhousing.
I will know for sure it is empty when I get back from NZ 2nd week of March though. Am going to try dropping the pan and doing a service on it.
Can get a service kit off Ebay for about $26
Am just trying for ideas before I go to the land of the long white sheep pushers. (sorry to all you K1W1's out there. habit for us Aussies. :P 2 weeks sailing around the little islands will be sooooo relaxing.
3 more sleeps till we head for the sheeps. yeehaaa Anyway keep poppin the ideas into my head. I will be trying anything you guys can hit me with to save the box from the rebuild box.
Would love to get one that can handle some horses if I need it though, hopig to put twin turbs on later this year with a 3200 stally. will make the world a happier place if the wife lets me. ROFLMTO (the t is for tits)
Later fordies. Keep all four on the ground. Unless you mean it.
