I'm looking at a factory AU beam axle LSD tomorrow but I'm curious to know what sort of quality they are. I already have a factory LSD centre but would like to just bolt this whole axle straight in as it has the better brakes that came with the AU2 and 3.

I'm starting to use the car for the occasional track day so would like something half decent!!

Any info would be greatly appreciated :)

If you are going to get serious about track days i would seriously think about an after market center. Is the car v8 or i6.i have seen quite a few E, A, B and F series falcons destroy factory lsd centers at the track (sandown, winton and P Island) The factory lsd lasted quite well in our eb 5.0 lt we changed to a tru track because it simply couldnt handle the power anymore.

Thanks for the response Xrstu, that's more or less what I've heard from a couple of people and what I was initially thinking. It's an i6 with some mild breathing mods but looking to build an engine, bolt on a turbo etc. down the track so by then there will definitely be a better LSD in it.

For the time being I'm just getting to know the car, doing some poverty mods (I'm an apprentice!!) and only managed one outing to Winton, I think the standard LSD should be ok for the time being. Once I get some more power and a better clutch there will definitely be a new one going in!!

Thanks for the response and info :)
