I just need a new diff housing and tail shaft I've been told standard stuff is the same. Is this correct?

No. Sedans use IRS and coil springs. Wagons and utes used a solid diff, leaf sprung.

No, XR6T/XR8 and FPV are the same. They are a larger, stronger diff, with a different yoke.
