Hi all, can anyone please help me out with a little advice
 I am building decent horses and need to upgrade my braking system in my XY FALCON. She currently has a disc brake front end to which i heard that an au series 2 caliper assembly can be bolted into place using the au stub axles........ Is this possible or can anyone offer me any advice as to what i can do without going to HOPPERS STOPPERS expensive methods? All help and advice would be appreciated. Cheers... |

You are not going to be able to use the AU stubs. XF is the latest you can use, otherwise it is a totally different design. You need to look for the best calipers available for an XF. Good luck.

Thank you for your help here..... so the whole front end assemblies including stubs and all bolt straight in from an XF? This would be good if i can get onto them as i am also shortening my diff housing and will adapt the XF fairmont rear discs aswell (while i am at it as i used to drive an XF RAIRMONT and from memory, the braking was far more than superior over my XY).

If you type in BIG Brakes on EBAY. Romac UPC do a kit that fits straight on to your stub axles it has BA Rotors & VT calipers. Lists them for 99 cents they normally go for around $750 I got one for my PV for $713. it fits well. Pedal is a bit low may need to change your master cylinder. Still playing with that part. Have you already got Gilmers on the front? (slight upgrade over the pbr's) maybe pad and rotor combo worth upgrading, probably cheapest upgrade, you could start, otherwise next step is $700+for a upc kit.probably the best bet afterall by the time you by pads and rotors, you'll probably be halfway there.
