ed xr6 with au engine & t5 box
is it possible to disengage "button clutch"?. is it an external linkage/hydraulic ?
or inside box itself. sons car has one in it & would like to have a standard
heavy duty clutch.

You need to remove the gearbox and change the clutch, there is no other way to do it.

They aren't much use on stock engines. More suited to performance engines where clutches are likely to slip with the extra torque. They aren't much fun in crawling traffic..
