I need to URGENTLY change the oil pump in my EB BTR auto to an AU one to suit my expensive stall converter (was previously in an AU box).

As always i've left it to the last minute and the new motor is ready to go back in......

Can anyone please give me some pointers, tips, pics, etc? I have a few workshop manuals but they are not that descriptive. FYI Both boxes are side by side on my work bench, plus i have a spare i can "practice" on.
Is it something that you should take to a specialist or fairly straight forward?

Cheers

Take both boxes to an auto shop and tell them what you want done. There's no way I'd attempt an auto box build unless it was a simple valve body swap on a mechanical auto as that's a simple bolt in, bolt out job. A pump swap requires the use of a press iirc.

piece of piss, providing your last auto didn't die a painful clutch-pack burning or gear eating death.

If you old auto did have filings and heavy dust in the pan the pump will need pulled down and cleaned as well as the solenoid.

im assumeing they are the same box

remove gearbox
2. remove bell housing
3. remove Oil pump,
4. sit new torque converter slot into au pump Assembly spin to make sure au pump is free
5 slot au pump into gearbox making sure gasket is in decent nic, also check the electronic connection wire is not going to be touhced by the c4 drum (drum thing on shaft behind pump) and make sure the connection between the pump and tranny look good ( you will see what i mean),
6. 30NM for bolts pump-tranny case,
7. reinstall bellhousing, attach tourqe converter, spin clockwise if it feels free then good if not examine parts
8.reinstall gearbox to engine

should work
