Was thinking of changing my T5 fifth gear set. Does anyone know the teeth on the standard 5th gear set in an E-series T5? Then I can figure out what set's will fit!
Thanks

Bit more to it than that.

Yeah I know there is the main gear-set (input>countergear) at the front of the box which multiplies with the 5th gear set. It's a later model box so it should have a 23tooth gear. But if I know the teeth on the 5th gear-set and main-set I can calculate the new ratio. Do you know what they are by any chance?

I used to have the teeth info for the mainshaft and countergear written down for the WC and non WC boxes. Looked for it a few times in the past, can't find it.
Wouldn't it be better to change I/P shaft and counter gear to get different lower gear ratios as well ?
Obviously, 4th remains at 1:1.

Ahh that's too bad, I can find some stuff for mustang's but not sure if they are the same. If you change the main-gear set that will change 1,2,3 as well right. I thought the 5th was easy to change because it all comes off separately.

The box I have at the moment actually has a 0.80:1 (approx) 5th gear at the moment for some reason, which is good for driveability but not so great on fuel. Was trying to get something around the 0.65 mark, with 3:45 gears.

Yeah it's for an ED, I think it's an EF box but they should be the same. I think the XR8 box has probably got a different main-gear set I imagine?
