just driving before and outta the blue down a hill my diff starts making clunking noises
 ....stops when i break, accelerate or go up a hill
its fairly loud...but can only hear it goin down a hill im guessing its the pinion? does anyone WORK for ford here? anyone experienced problems with BA falcon Diffs?

yeh, apparantly BA diffs are heaps of s**t,,
mighta happened wehn you mounted that kerb

i was told that ba diffs are the same series centres as eb2 through au and ba..??? |

not that i know of....because the same diffs are used in the typhoons and GT's as they are in the Falcon XT's......an eb2 centre cant handle that much power.

Id be checking the prop shafts first before blaming the diff. Is there play in the prop shafts CV's whith the car raised and the wheels moved back and forth?

heard many a drama with the BA diffs from XT to GT etc
heard that the FORD recomended backlash is like 1" on em!!!

Had my 04 XR6 diff rebuilt due to bad clunking when down shifting. Handled under warranty and now is heaps better.
