Hey, i have a set of 3.89 diff gears i am wanting to put into my au xr8, i am having trouble finding a shim kit. i found these on ebay:
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/HOLDEN-COMMO ... 7675.l2557 The listing has ended now but it stated for Beam axel only, i have IRS..is there a difference in the shims? can anyone link me to a set that would work |

IRS diffs have screw in type side carrier bearing holders.
Crawl under and have a look....you'll see what I mean.

hmm so does that mean shims are not needed for irs?

Shims are needed for pinion height though....they are like tin ones.
Sometimes they are under the Pinion inner bearing, or under the inner bearing cup.

Obvious one is the Ford dealer....as for others, Diff Trans Spares
