found a 330mm brake upgrade on ebay for EA-EL if anyone is interested. its been listed for a while now
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/FALCON-BIG-B ... 27bb60574c

i know im interested but a bit expensive. that would definatly pull up a heavy falcon qiuck. my brakes dont pull me up quick enough

Offset FTL!

Seriously tho, the offset is neither E series or B series, unless you pick the option that puts the offset at +28mm, which reads as tho it's another 28mm on E series offset, so that is what, about 34 or 35 offset?

8 inch wide wheels are going to have lots of trouble...

Cheers

mr spares have been doing those kits for a few years now..
but its either au offset or in between..

otherwise add about another $1000 and the race brakes kit is e series offset.
the down side not many people are willing or can afford to spend more on a brake upgrade than there car is worth..

Pitty that someone can't come up with an affordable way to bolt on BA rotors & calipers on the front of our E series, even just the stock pov pack stuff, that's a good upgrade from stock E series.

Cheers

insteed of trying to look for a total upgrade you could allways just use dba and get cros drilled rotors and then look up green stuff or red struff brake pads this will give u a nice upgrade and is not good enuf you could allways look to trya nd fit a ba brake booster and custom make brake lines thsi would = a higher pressure = quicker stop :)

Slotted & drilled rotors are an upgrade, but your still limited to how much heat the brake rotor can dissipate due to it's size. I've got slotted & drilled on one of the Xr8's, and it's a nice improvement over stock brakes, but still I don't feel they are quite as good as my mates stock BF Xr6 brakes. His are only the stock BF brakes, same as a pov pack.

How about bolt on BA rotors that are slotted? That would be a great upgrade.

Cheers

custom spindal uprights would be the way to go..
but the costs would still out weight the ease of just buying the race brakes kit....

I take it you mean if we were to mount the BA stub?

Cheers

correct..

what uprights do race brakes use? just a modified E series upright?

what if we found a lower control arm (from another make/model) to match E series front end to BA upright?

whats the problem with the rack position?

cheers

race brakes use a modified e series upright.

and the issue with the steering rack is the e series one, iirc sits alot lower than the au one.
so to keep a reasonable geometry the car would need to be 4wd height..lol

there is a detailed thread on boosted falcon where a custom lower arm was made and fitted to the car. and the steering geometry was that far out, the amount of bump steer created was dangerous...

well no if they were produce in production, if they sold only the upright for say 500 a pair, I'm sure us e series drivers could scrounge up cheap rotors, pads, and calipers etc.

even just the advantage of standard rotors compared to the f**k up e series hub/rotor in 1 combo I'm sure would be cheaper to replace.

I'm sure 1600 dollars isn't just to justify the custom uprights, most will be happy with second hand calipers over new etc.
