Can anyone tell me whats involved in engne swap the car to et the new motor was a 6cly auto i wnt to put a v8 5 speed in it.

send a pm to brad (waggin). he did the exact thing. converted a 6cyl eb to a 5.0. i'm sure he can tell you all you need to know. his was re - plated as a v8 as well i think.

Probly easier to buy a 5litre ghia and manual conversior or a 5 speed XR8
|

All i can say is it sounds like it will cost lots of $$$$,would be easier to go buy one.

how smashed is the eb xr8. might be easier to swap all the good panels over to that if the roof and chassis is still good.

motor gear box - xmember will all bolt up to the same spots as the 6 cyl . you will need to use the whole front wiring harness , engine harness and dash harness aswell as the brake pedal box from the v8 body . SO basiclly everything from the dash to the headlites you need to change to do the conversion ( i did brads conversion ) ,

you will aslo may want to change the diff to the diff from the 8 ( ratio's are differnet )
