i was driving down the road and it was all fine, nothing was going wrong, nek minnnit the speedo dies, then the car decides to grab 2nd and wont shift back up. i drove another 2 min and got to where i was going and stopped and turned the car off. couple of minutes later i drove off again and it would not shift out of first. i was told it went into LHM but it was locked in 1st,not 3rd. can anyone help.

I would guess that your inhibitor switch has died. Does it still start in Park & Neutral?

yes. it has reverse aswell

I would say that the inhibitor is telling the box that you have selected 1st no matter if you put it in 1, 2, 3 or drive.

i took it down to the transmission shop $300 later they said that it was the speedo transducer?
