Hello. My diff in my eb 8 is very very very close to calling it quits. I cannot find a LSD straight outta an eb anywhere so I was wondering if anyone knows wether just an el LSD centre will go straight in my eb?? I'm going to use the crown off the old diff outta the eb and leave the same pinion in so the crown and pinion still match.

yes, you can use the lsd centre from eb2 to au.

yes.... but the au irs centres do have a slight difference in the lsd cone but the centre is still interchangable

Thats the only difference. and the lsd cone does not separate from the side gear like the others.. meaning they are a bit harder to shim the lsd when rebuilding them, so instead of shimming in between the side rear and cone they shim the spider gears to allow the side gear and cone to sink further into the hemisphere.. |

So yesterday at the wreckers I got a price for the whole diff + tube and it was $350 but I just wanted the centre and was unsure if it would fit and you guys told me a straight swap I went back there today to just get the centre and he was raving on about how it won't fit but I said ill take it anyway then the price went to $350 just for the diff centre or $550 for the lot WTF?

he/they just wanted a 'sale' so troyman.. a AU LSD [3.23] will fit a EB2 ... good coz the 3.23's LSD's i have otherwise are EA/EB or 2.92 LSD EA |

Def an a55hol3. I jus said the ole righto and left. Ended up finding a random complete 3.45 LSD tube n all axles near new discs, brakes all together from a fella in his shed. Gave him $250 and lugged it off

I bought a whole el ghia (front rad support was cut out) for about $400off him and got the lsd, tickford head, rims and other little bits. Couldve sold bits off it but no one comes good with the cash around here. $550 for a whole diff is ridiculous
