Where do I check how full it is and where do I top it up? Also how do you service a transmission? As in change all the oil and put new stuff in.

Need to check when cold or at least two hours after running the car. There is a 15mm(I think that is right) bolt on the drivers side near the back of the transmission. It is kind of blocked from view by the cat.

Make sure car is level and remove bolt. Fluid should be level with the bottom of the hole. If low top up with a oil pump. If the trans is hot it will over flow out the hole.

Easy.

Service the trans is buy the service kit which includes filter and gasket. Buy correct oil approx 4 litres.

Drop the bottom pan by slowly loosening all bolts. Undo the rear ones a bit faster and all the oil will drain out from the back of the pan. Remove pan and replace filter. Use new gasket and replace pan. Refill with clean oil as above. Run and check for leaks.

If your oil is brown or black. You will need to take to a trans shop to do a full flush. This uses around 20 litres of oil running through your cooler lines to completely change the oil in the trans and torque convertor.

cheers
Scott
