Sorry for the basic question but I need to know the answer so I can do this myself.

How do I change the front brkae pads in my NA fairlane? (If somebody could list the steps for me it would be great)
Are there any special tools required?

Any help/advice appreciated.

1. Jack up front of car and place on axle stands.

2. remove front wheels

3. open bonnet and remove cover to brake master cylinder reservoir

4. If reservoir is full some brake fuild is going to need to be removed
Sponge out some excess fuild, down to about half of reservoir. Be
careful, not to spill any on paint work etc.

5. remove 2 bolts from back of each caliper

6. carefully position caliper on top of rotor, steering knuckle without
pulling on hose.

7. remove old pads

8. push piston back using large 'G' Clamp. periodically check Master Cylinder reservoir to insure it doesn't over flow.

9. Installation is the reverse of this procedure.

Remember to check your rotors for wear/gouges etc. They may need machining.
