OK. So let me see if I've got this right. Sounds like not much has changed. Drain the diff by removing the bottom bolt on the flange and refill via a filler plug higher up on the driver's side of the flange. Last time I did this I used a piece of plastic tubing with a funnel on the end of it, threaded up through the wheel arch till I could access the funnel with the new oil. Long and slow, but it worked. As for the oil, it looks like a synthetic is recommended and I will need to check out this additive from Ford, mentioned by 93EB. Where can I go wrong!

You got it just check weather your diff is LSD or not as different oil is used

Brilliant!
After 35 years together, mine sort of expects that I know, how do everthing from brain surgery to ironing! And if I can't, then I have some explaining to do. But I wouldn't be without her. Who else is going to pass me the 32mm socket when I'm already under the car!

Not sure whether you have an LSD or not, but if an LSD don't use synthetic stuff (even if it is synthetic LSD oil).
