i use bilsteins now and love them, will def use them from now on!
for a daily car, u want comfort wih handling and this is def found with these shocks. my fairlane was transformed with these if u ask me and it had standard fbt suspension which many have said to be bloody good for stock. heard lots of good stuff on koni too, but i think they suit track/race application more so than every day car.. take this for what you will

Wondeer if TIENs fit Fords ... I highly doubt it ... bloody awesome set of shocks.
I am currently using Pedders Sport Ryders .. and they aren't too bad ... when it coems time to replacement though ... I'll look at something a bit more expensive as I'd like a little more control on rough, unpredictable country roads.

bilstein are nice since they were designed to be driven at what? 200km/hr on the autobahn for german cars such as the mercs and beamers.....if you have deep pockets filled with green notes go ahead and buy bilstein ull be very happy...if not just go with KYB (a tad cheaper i think) or just go ordinary......pedders do the trick for half the price =D

Unfortunately no - I threw out the lot ages ago (was about 4 years ago now) - you have to realise that at the time I was severely p****d OFF - so didn't even offer to give them away - I had finally bitten the bullet and spent $$$ on "decent" shockies only to find the bastards didn't handle as well as Gabriel VST's which cost about a tenth as much - as well as being unhappy with the lack of interest from the dealer about the front one that started spewing oil out everywhere. The final straw was when I put the Bilsteins in and realised just how s**t the Konis were. I had spent EVERY DAY for months making tweaks and pains takingly trying different combos of shock settings and sway bar settings trying to make those goddamned Konis work right and stop trying to kill me at high speed - then since the Bilsteins went in I reckon I've spent a total of 4 hours in 4 years under the car - and that has been quickly adjusting the bars to suit city driving and replacing front top arm pivots (d***head mechanincs fitted the first lot a*** about which made them disintegrate after 2 years). Like I said - with Bilsteins you can just enjoy driving the car and forget about F----ing around with it. The first keyturn after the Bilsteins went in was for a 1/2 hour road test, the second keyturn was to take the Konis to the DUMP!!

Yes, Bilsteins are fine up to ........ and well over - 200kph - on typical Aussie roads as well as Autobahns - and they are also terrific at all speeds in between. I'm a bit mystified about all the talk about Bilsteins giving nice ride etc. as in fact I reckon Konis are a softer ride in general - tho the Bilsteins do handle choppy stuff better and are more consistent in any conditions - ie. on smooth roads Konis are smoother but on choppy roads Konis are choppier. I think the bottom line is that Konis make the whole car follow the road (some people like this and IMO mistake it for performance) - whereas with Bilsteins it's the SHOCKIES that follow the road and the effect on the car itself is fairly well limited - which is the way I thought suspension is supposed to work???. One thing that still amazes the hell out of me about the Bilsteins is how fantastically well they handle dirt roads!! - they handle rough/corrugated dirt like you wouldn't believe - I have driven my brother's Subaru XT Forrester (I think it's the XT - the one with Turbo engine like WRX?) and my Falcon over the same choppy / rough / corrugated dirt roads and the Falcon s**t on the Forrester - in the Forrester your teeth nearly get shook outta your head (as you'd expect) but the Falcon remains quite pleasant - you are obviously on rough surface but it's not jarring and harsh (can't even think about playing CD's in the Forrester, but get only the occasional skip in the Falcon). And Bilsteins are actually not that much more expensive than Konis - in fact from memory they were about the same?? - I found best price was from Fulcrum (cheaper then the Aussie Bilstein importer / dealer!!). If I sound like a rolling Bilstein advertisment then so be it - IMO good gear deserves a good rap - and conversely I'm afraid I have NO TOLLERANCE for s**t products that don't live up to their claims and don't have decent after sales service. 'nuff said!!

id think so....id prefer bilstein but they are out of my league and probably yours as well. i would buy KYBs for their value for money =D good choice id say.

Well Iv'e read it all,twice,and got NFI which way to go,the facts...
XY 351 Clevo 160 odd RWK (cam and springs since  )
15" Globes Braided brake lines DBA Gold drilled and slotted Bendix Ultamates 4 speed Borgie single rail box of gears Use of car... Weekender,going like fcuk in the adelaide hills (obeying all speed limits) Will go to the odd Mallala track day,have been befor,but with a C4 box,monroe standard shocks,and the car handeled like a "wet" bag of s**t I dont want my lead fillings shook out of my head,or the need for a kidney belt... The same sort of ride I had in the 03 BA XR6 T would be fine,firm but not crazy stiff... I"m startin to trust a few of you blokes now,so there ya go,what do "I" get??? I will also be fitting anti sway bars too,30 something in the front The a*** has a 9" LSD with 3.55 gearing (I think),so what would be a good size for the rear anti sway bar Any help blokes
