Sometime in the near future, im looking at fitting 17" wheels to my EL Futura, and Lowering it...

Just wondering the approximate costing i might expect to pay, ill be replacing the shocks and springs etc with better quality ones naturally.

Any thoughts?

cost inc labour id say 700-2000 dependsing on what extreme you want.

Kings/monroe/pedders/gabriels etc.. are seen as the lower end of the market, whilst they get the job done their ride and handling are a little lacking as ride becomes bouncy/hard.

Koni/whiteline/dobinson/bilsein etc.. are the better end of the market, if you want good ride, re not go kart like, and still want awesome handlin with perfect ride heigh, look this way as these products are some of the finest available for you car pretty much. They cost a bit more certainly, however some can be reconditioned to last longer than standard units and generally will last longer than stds also.

Of course from there you have everything else which walls in between such as top of line pedders stuff/KYB/lovells etc... these are good value for money, ride should* be better than cheaping it out and handling should be noticably better than it was before.

Depending how far you wish to go in the handling are, look into bushes and sway bars, all new bushes witha good thicker sway bar up front will change th charcteristics of the well known "tail happy falcon" fairly nicely.

Hope that gives you something to think about.
