For a while now when I put my car in reverse the whole car shudders while my foot is on the clutch. when the car gets some temperature and a start from first gear there is a slight shuddering. Very noticable on a hill start.

I have been told that it is a thrust bearing, I might be rebuilding my engine so I will wait until all is out to get someone to have a look at it

Sounds more like a warped flywheel. This is happening when your clutch is engaging right. ie when fully disengaged or engaged it's fine. It just shudders as the clutch slips.

The thrust bearing moves the clutch in and out but when its stuffed it usually shows up as a squeaking noise.

Shuddering is a sign that your clutch is wearing out. Time for machined flywheel and new clutch.

The clutch only got changed about 10000k's ago it can't be a clutch, I haven't adjusted it in a while though but it hasn't needed it.

And yes it only happens when I am engaging the clutch

Unless it wasn't machined properly

hey hey i get the exact same problem.. ive been told the clutch plate is gummed up? which is entirely possible, damaged flywheel is also a possibility as i did the conversion and used the supplied second hand clutch.. will have the engine out shortly and will change the clutch.. hope that solves it.. will let you know how it goes

Yeah i've defiantely got the same problem.
As fair as I know, it would be the Flywheel. Its either needs machining or replacing.
I think a thrust bearing will just squeak or chirp when you haven't got the clutch engaged. Thats what i've been told, cause mine does this, and its damn annoying!

Thanks for the replys guys, This never happened with the clutch that wore out before, maybe the fly wheel became to thin after is was machined. I was told when they were removing the clutch that it was not the original and that was after only 80,000 k's.

How many times can you machine a flywheel?? approx

It won't always slip with oil on the clutch, but it will give you 'clutch shudder"
