My xr is making a rattle in idle and first. If I'm in idle it stops rattling if the AC is off. But kicks in again if it's on. I'm pretty sure it's coming from my cat but I'm not sure.. What's your take on it??

Okay I watched the video and it sounds like mine did. After I replaced my cat the rattle was gone but does the rattle go away if you give it rev If so id say cat. The only thing I dont under stand is why it changes with the ac yourpump might be stuffed.

I would say if its only while a/c is on your a/c pump is cactus..
is the noise coming from the exhaust or it is also in the engine bay??? |

It's only during idle and 1st gear, if you go under the car and push on the cat, the rattle stops so I'm assuming something's not holding it in place enough or something, but everything seems fine.. I'll have to put it on double jacks on my day off and have a proper look, but at the moment I'm pretty clueless as to what it is
I'm getting a cat back in the next week or 2 aswell so I'll see what the exhaust shop can do about it also |

If it is the Cat that is rattling, it will one of 2 things. Either the heatshield is loose, easy fix, or the guts of the Cat are loose or collapsed, in that case you will be replacing the Cat as well.
