Just Reading an old thread on Nissan Diffs

Will the following centre fit into an EA Falcon Diff Housing (which is 25 Spline - correct??)

Nissan Pintara's, 2 pinion 25 spline axle - 4.11 centre

(but is the EA Falcon LSD 4 pinion).

Just i blew the original diff 2 years ago, and before the accident a few weeks ago the second diff started to play up. didn't like the extra power and all.

only EA Ghia were LSD and not 4 pinion as far as I know.

and from what i have heard it will fit, a trans place will be able to answer the Q for sure.

My EA S II was optioned from the factory with an LSD but i will check again. When i bought the car it had an LSD already in it. Aged about the same as the rest of the driveline and the owner said it was all original.

With 113,000 Kms on the clock and the previous owner being in his 60's i would tend to believe him.

When i bought it he gave me everything including the original purchase documentation - which had LSD written on it.

Just got to find which box i put the ford sales documentation papers in.

Also when i blew the diff after a couple of months the diff place asked if i wanted to replace it with another LSD or if i wanted to go open-wheeler as it would be cheaper. What did they think i was going to say - OPEN WHEELER - YEAH RIGHT.

I have a 1990 EA S. Was told today by a mechanic that you cat change the diff ratios??
Was this guy on crack or something?
I wanted to buy a 3.7:1 LSD to replace the one legger. I have never done any diff work so have to plead ignorance. I just left his workshop.

yes of course you can change ratios, you can use gears from the r31 skylines or pintara, you can even buy new gears with ratios from 2.77 to 4.11 from diff places..

the mechanic is on crack and needs to put the crack pipe away...lol
