you generally need to undo teh whole dash and pull it out - or at least pull teh dash forward 10cm so you can manouver the box around teh column and drop it out

Each time i have has to fix mine or change it i just pull teh entire dash out - pretty easy to do - just unplug all connectors and pull it out!

DONT PULL THE WHOLE BLOODY DASH OUT!!!! There are 3 bolts behind the instrument cluster not 2, you've missed one. Take the brake pedal off first, it'll make it easier to manouver the pedal box out. You didn't mention the two bolts up by the steering column either, make sure you pull these out. In total there are the 5 bolts on the firewall, 2 bolts next to the steering column, 3 bolts behind the instrument cluster (you'll have to remove the vent duct to get to those) and 1 bolt attached to the handbrake bracketing. One final piece of advice, make sure you strengthen the clutch pin on the manual box before installing, they are notorious for busting, I found the best thing to do is drop a snug fit washer around the pin and weld around the entire edge of the washer, taking care not to obstruct the brake pin hole. Good luck, the pedal box is the worst part of the manual conversion, but it'll be well worth the hassle

to move the dash, undo the 10mm bolts, each side near the kick panels, then 2 more in the centre of the dash, and the 5 or 6 screws across the top under the plastic trim, and the dash will pretty much come out enough to get the pedal box out very easily.
Doesnt really take that long to do.
