Simple question.
Supercharged EL XR8, Manual, lightened flywheel, 240 odd rwkw.
Add 4.11 diff.
Insane or not?
Not a stupid question either guys LOL
We have a 4,11 diff sitting here, and we don't know what to do :?

Insane, commit yourself now!

Would be more of a hinderance than a help.
1st and 2nd cog would be useless, rolling onto the throttle would result in nothing more than wheelspin bouncing off the revlimiter.

Unless of course you were to fit a set of 28" Slicks under the a***, and be willing to rev it out to 7k rpm...

I agree, you'd need 28" slicks to use that ratio diff. only good for 1/4 mile at a time.

Just a bit of background, that threads was posted about 5 minutes after we figured out a supposed 3.9 diff actually had 4.11s in it.
3.9 diff was already bordering on crazy with this setup, so we decided not to put it in.
On the upside, "EL XR8" now has yella terra lightened flywheel, nolathane front bushes, new clutch, new blower belt, and some 17" remoulds on the back to fry at calder tomorrow :D
