Hey all

Just wondering if anyone knows what causes the heavier steering on an EF II ghia compared to a EF gli and especially an AU II ghia?
Is it meant to be like that or does my car have a problem? or does the gli have a problem?? :?

Also, dads AU ghia has very light steering... heaps lighter than the gli (and the gli was light compared to my car)... makes my car feel soo old and heavy in comparison... I wouldn't mind the same steering feel on my car but I don't really know what could be the difference between the 3 models? they all look pretty similar from the engine bay lol.

Im pretty sure the GHIA come with a more advanced power steer system, remember reading up about it on wikipedia once, but then it all depends how big the difference is.....

The Ghia's have speed sensitive power steering.

Tire size, specially width, will play a big factor in how heavy steering will feel. Along with alignment settings too.

On top of that there will be differences in rack and pump valving as the cars got newer, all for different feels.

Wasn't it only the EL ghia's that had the SSPS?
