As in my title Im requiring some reports on whats a good clutch. The clutch in my AU2 XR8 is close to finished and just want some opinions on what clutch and a rough estimate of price you may have.

Cheers, Justin

I know people will say otherwise, I like my Exedy Sports Tuff.
Had a PBR HD in it and it was terrible. It slipped like all crap and was heavy too.

I would assume any decent HD clutch to suit your XR8 will be over $400.

I had a Clutch Industries clutch in my AU. It was terrible. Stuck an Exedy Sports tuff Organic HD clutch in it, and it was fantastic. Look in the vicinity of $600 for the clutch kit though. I got mine 20% below cost, and it was a substantial amount cheaper though.

I have a link here for a HD clutch and just wanting to confirm this is the one you guys are talking about?? If it is then I can pick a kit up for around the $480 mark

That appears to be the clutch I had. $480 is a good price, not much above Cost actually!

Call Joe at Crescent. Ask him about the clutch he fitted to mine. Nice and light and seems to handle the power no probs. Its a Sprung Button Excedy from memory.

i would definetally go with the exedy hd clutch, every clutch ive done in my cars had either an exedy hd or an exedy oem replacement, ive had a v8 xd with a 4 speed and it was the best car i had ever had once the exedy went into it, as for the rest of the cars ive had exedy in 5 cars over the last 6 years.

I went to my local auto shop during the week and he quoted me cheaply on a Daikin HD Sports Clutch. Naturally without knowing much about clutches I went WTF but later found out that Daikin is or was Exedy once upon a time so going with one of those. Guna rip the box out during the week and do it so will report back in once completed.

Cheers, Justin
