Does the less amount of teeth on the speedo sender unit cog increase the speedo reading?

My old gearbox from a Ford AU 2 has a Pink gearcog, 19 teeth.

The current gearbox I am using at present is from a Ford Fairlane, colour and teeth unkown as I have not pulled the bolt out to check. At 100kmh on the GPS reads 95Kmh on the speedo unit.

The old gearbox reading 100kmh on the GPS unit reads 105Kmh on the speedo.

Tyres used is 215/60R16

Based upon the different tyres as opposed to standard factory specific tyres would the Pink 19 teeth speedo cog be the correct one to use?

Cheers

yes, the less amount of teeth the higher your speedo will read...

i would say the 20 teeth is correct for your car..a 19 tooth gear is for 2.92 ratio which was last used in ea and eb1

have a look in this link, it shows what gear is for what ratio..
documents.php?d=30

havnt we had this question recently???

Troyman,

Thanks mate, we probably have discussed this before but I may not have asked the right question in context before.

Cheers
