Hey guys...anyone got any ideas why the front struts squeek and sound like rubber rubbing on metal on bumps and stuff. Its just bloody annoying.

Cheers

Make sure the sway bar isnt rubbing on the chassis due to worn D bushes.

take it to a place n pop it on hoist, or get a free suspension check, this will soon tell you.
My front shocks squeaked, and the upper something arather, replaced both n all good now.
Also doesnt hurt to have things cleaned n lubed.

We had Kmac Adjustable Upper Control Arm bushes installed just over 2 years ago. Basically they sqeaked over every bump in the road. Man it was annoying. Anyway our "trusted" mechanic only ever fixed with silicon spray which lasted about a week. I finally spoke to Kevin at K-Mac, he replaced the bushes free of charge. Sqeaks are gone.

the squeaks would be dude to teh fact the no nolathane grease was used when installing the kit,
when ever u used nolathane bushes etc u HAVE to use the grease supplied and us it all! stops those annoy squeaks and makes teh bushes last

MUST USE NOLATHANE GREASE! The strut top rubber that is located in the spring seat also can squeak, i found that i had to take mine apart and use some rubber grease/Nolathane grease on both surfaces of the rubber seat to stop it. Also the lower control arm and sway bar bushes can squeak like a mutha. A good penetrating oil can help in the short term.

You can prob get a general perpose grease for bushes, but the nola parts come with there own pack of grease, you could always try and auto shop and see what they say, I've got another type of grease that I use, but i can't remember the name of it until i go back down to the workshop .
