gonna install a tranny cooler in the ba cab and was wondering what size fittings are required, i.e. so we can put a feed from where the line hooks up at the radiator.
we don't want to cut the lines so the cooler can be removed if there is any trouble and that way the cab isn't standing in the driveway. cheers

cut the lines
or u will need to find a male thread to go into the rad and then a femal fitting to go back to the lines and with a cab i would think about bypassign the rad cooler and getting a much bigger tranny cooler and using that instead have seen the rad cooler fail a few times makes a mess of the coolant!

will be using a davies craig 678. its the one most of the guys with modded xrt and typhoons are using on ff.com.au
will be bypassing rad as have seen two tranny's fry themselves as the coolant got into the atf. ba's have very weak tranny cooler in rad from factory. but want the fittings intact so rehooking the rad is easy incase the external cooler s**t itself. so any one know the size i need. see diagram attached for pretty picture.

just a note to anyone buying a davies craig 678,
davies craig direct............ $222.20 repco.............................. $200 VPW.com.au.................... $153 and surprisingly, they had just got them in for the first time as well, no tickets done yet so i took it to the counter to find the price was Supercheap..................... $120 i don't know why davies craig is so much more expensive, its fukin ridiculous.

i was expecting davies craig to be dearer as they don't want to start a price war with their on sellers but being double the price is just f**k stupid to me.
at least i shopped around, thank god, otherwise i might of started crying the next time i went into super cheap, wouldn't of been to pretty.

i was told by 2 ford dealers no extra auto cooler was made by ford.
and repco didn't want to bring in the drivetech one, weren't overly excited about the idea lets say, bursons wanted me to buy their own burson brand item. so we went with the davies.

Ford did a EA one and I got a genuine one installed in the BA. I'd be surprised if they didn't have one for EL. Maybe they just don't stock them anymore. I'm sure you will be fine with the Davies.

this is actually for our ba cab mad max.
i was told no genuine extra cooler made by ford for ba's, bf's got one but told it would be hard to fit into ba. not worried about the davies as alot of the guys in xrt's that do track days run em, and its aussie made so its gotta be half decent if not better.

Definitely a Ford cooler in my BA. Was fitted by Freeway ford in Cranbourne. Also had quote from Wignals in Frankston. Neither of them said anything about them being BF coolers.
Goes in real neat too. Long cooler that goes full width of the radiator with proper fitting brackets.
