Hi Papa Smurf,
Thanks for that info on Bolt grade. I have 8.8 stamped on the bolt head, I don't know if the one I have is grade 8 but will be going to the nut and bolt shop again next week to see if the bolts I have are grade 8.

Cheers.

Do strut rubbers need to be changed when they have tiny cracks or can the rubber last a lot longer?

I took my front shock assembly to a garage that had spring compressors. After releasing pressure on shocks, assembly was dismantled. Garage person said I need new strut mounting pad and rubber bush. Signs of rubber cracking slightly, only under load.

Replaced the snapped stud bolt with a new Hight Tensile bolt Grade 8.8 Bit of work involved in removing the old bolt, then measure correct length, grind bolt head to approx same thickness of stud bolt, MIG weld, good as new.

Gas shocky also does not come back up, so its' stuffed.

Question is. Do I need to replace that rubber or is a money spinner to sell a product that's still good?

Thanks
