Which pipe do I disconnect to do a full flush and how much fluid does the whole system hold from empty to full

to do a decent flush if the fluid is black you'll need like 15L.

remove the trans cooler pipe and have the cooler side and the trans side of the lines going into a catch container.

the question is do you know the procedure to do it correctly?

you need to take off both pipes from trans cooler.

One goes in to a 30L container the other connects to your drum pump.
You'll to buy a 20L container of BTR compatible fluid and drum pump to suit.

First you do a pan change like normal, then refill and connect the drum pump to the return line.
(put both pipes into the catch container and run the engine for a few seconds, that will show which pipe is which)

Then while you friend sits in the car and runs the engine and moves the shifter through all the gears, you need to pump in the new fluid untill what comes out is clean. Try and save a few litres so you have some to adjust the level when your done.

don't need a drum pump. just do the pan gasket and filter, fill it up. have the lines into a catch container, start it, run it through the gears till it runs outta fluid. top up, repeat till it's clean. put the trans coller line back on, fill to right level. all done
