I was losing my economy on LPG and you guys helped by suggesting that I 'reset the ECU', and showed me how. It worked! Today, I took the car for a 200 klm drive and the economy was great. I stopped and had lunch, and then started the car ('96 NF Fairlaine - see EF Falcon) to come home. For the whole 200 klm trip home the car went from third to 'neutral' instead of finding 'overdrive'. I stopped the car, waited a while and started the car, but to no avail. After a service last year the car couldn't find overdrive on the way home so i went straight back and they founda plug on the 'loom' above the rocker cover that had come apart. They put that back together and it all worked until now. I checked the plug and it is still connected. Can anyone help? Do I go to a 'Gearbox specialist', an 'auto electrician', or a Ford Dealer? Is it a common problem with EB/ED/EF Fords, because I have a mate with an EB that the same thing happened to and it has put his car off the road.

dont think its in limp mode cauyse the car is jumping into netruel instead of 4th,
dont know what the problem is but some advice is to put it in 3(manually) cause this way it wont switch into overdrive, this way it will be more driveable for the timebeing

If the auto is ok, it might be the Gear position switch on the side of the auto, (pass. side.)

That was another idea :), the transmission will tend to bang in and out of gear from low fluid... I had this happen to my ea... it was kinda the end of the line for that thing heh... rusted and leaking badly bye bye ea LARF
