Are you by any chance using the InPrivate Web Browsing?

Or is your Delete browsing History on Exit Ticked? Otherwise Untick it and check if it remembers the user and password.

Other wise if you are ok with resetting Internet Explorer Settings, Found in Tools>Internet Options>Advance Tab>Reset. Then try again with saving a user and password. Before you do this delete all browsing history and the lot.

If that don't work quit using IE.
