how hard is it to get an "ok" job?
http://members.fordmods.com/~righty/comm_light.jpg
Thats what i've got to fix up... mainly because the light doesnt really meet up with the panel, it doesnt need to be perfect, as the condition of the car is s**t anyway, i just need it to be reasonable.
Get a hammer and start hitting the inside out? or are the spesh tools one should be using?
The commodore is my practice car, so i dont f**k up my falcon

I think Supercheap and Repco and places sell panelbeaters tools so you might wanna pick a set up before you attempt the job

That car has been hit before. Pic shows plenty of filler in the 1/4. I would just tap it out and fill it again. Its amazing what a bog master can do with filler.

wot u would need to use on that is a tool called a spoon and a plenishing hammer and LOL heap of bog :P
other problem is that panel is welded on , and you can just get in there with the spoon tool .

cheers for the advice, and yeh, it's a VS. And, i am looking for a tail light, the current one is in 4 peices, atm i have sticky tapped them together! suprisingly, it's holding quite well, i just did that so i can at least drive it, and it's not "too" unsafe.
But, I look on the bright side, and at least it was only the commodore that got damaged

long as u get the pannel...sufice...the paint work is the biggest key...just beat it out so all works well for you...yes get a kit for the job...but paint it properly and it wont be as noticable.

Undercoat...VERY light sand...
colour paint coat....
clear coat...1200 sand...
cutting polish

just use the crap in the can...will do the job for all you want to do...just make sure u get the colours to match, OR...undercoat it and that'll do...wattle rust guard stuff is brill...takes about 30 mins to dry in comparason to normal spray paints that take about 15 mins, either way do this before you put a colour coat on or rust is more likely...will help the paint stick. Rust guard undercoat $16 for the can, colour $9, clear $9. N ur done.
