Has anyone done a standard sound to premium sound with the colour screen conversion before?? and if so is it just as easy as buying a premium sound icc and putting that in?? Cheers

Yes and no! lol Depends on the unit you buy. Some are swap and go, some need programing... I have a Dual zone colour unit in my single zone ute. Had it reprogramed to think it’s a single zone… Looks fkin sweet if you ask me! I'll upload a pic if you’re interested.

Cheers Paul.

Yeah you can get single zone ones for around $700-900, depends who you buy them off, some are swap and go and some will need to be decoded. I used a dual zone cos i thin it looks better. I paid $350 for mine.

Mine is out of a fairlane so it has white LED's would have liked to get one with blue (GT or XR), but doesn't look to bad next to the blue cluster and couldn't pass it up for the price... And i just pulled it apart and had the fascia 2 pac'd in lighting strike, as well as the dash spears, vents, clock, cup holder, gear surround and cluster surround.... lol I like silver. :D

You would need to run an amp and stuff the stock premo stuff is crap.. The head units are basically the same as stock. Just has a 6 stacker. But looks sweet. :)

I'm really not sure sorry. I l ooked at doing new speakers and s**t, all require an aftermarket amp. Guess you get one that runs a sub as well?!? I think there is a thread in the audio section with all the info. Dont think you have to run an aftermarket head unit, but seems to be what most do, gives better features maybe... I did mine mainly for looks. :D

I bought them from a place on the Gold Coast called Payless wheels and tyres... Only thing i would recommend doing is do ur research on what size tyres to get cause mine are apparently illegal haha u have to make sure ur tyres arent stretched!!! So i think i have to get 245/35/20 instead of the 235/35/20 that are on them at the moment.... I personally like 20" better on the xr's cause it fills the wheel arch but the tyres wear quicker (and i NEVER spin the wheels in the dry) and pot holes are ur enemy!!! Haha but other than that its definately worth it!! Any other info u need feel free to ask:)
