Well i thought i would hook the car up to a battery just to test a few circuits and all got from the car was a 3 beep series coming from the right hand side of the gauge cluster?
Im sure to people that play around with E series falcons it is something simple.

On the plus side i did fit the pedal box and booster, well i still have to make a bracket for the steering shaft to attatch to the dash and a plate for the brake booster and alot of other stuff.

The cluster will beep when there is a warning light on such as low oil pressure, or temp in the red. It will also beep if you leave your headlights on and turn the car off, oh and when the fuel is low, or if the trip comp says there is less than 80k in the tank.

I hope that helps.

Cheers

Front brakes test fitted and they fit rather well.
So i started to finish and neaten up the wires in the engine bay and moveing them to under the manifold (well most of them) but i have a large pink wire, i cant find it on the schematic, but i have found that my loom has some series 1 and series 2 colour codes.

BF Alternator is different to BA, but an AUII and AUIII are the same as it they will bolt in, not sure about the wiring.

Well I decided to move my posts here as it seemed a more fitting place than the 6cyl forum.

Previous posts can be read at ford-4l-and-6-cylinder-f1/4-0-conversion-t117468-15.html hope that link works.

Anyway in the last few months not allot has happened due to work and family but mainly work because at the moment they want me to do stuff like work, unbelievable.
Plus side to working is that I discovered a series 1 AU XR6 in the car park with cobwebs all over it, so I broke into it to see who it belonged to and check out its general condition and after a new battery and some fuel she started.
I searched around work and found the owner who after purchasing a new car parked it at work and left it there, so $500 later I am the proud owner of a black series 1 AU XR6.
I will probably use the motor and box out of the AU and place them in the Zephyr as for the rest of the car I will see which wrecker will give me the best deal.

Well that’s it for now, will post pics when I am not at work.

OK here are some of my current thoughts.
I have scored the AU series 1 XR6 and now i have for free a BA MK1 Pov pack Falcon that has seen better days.
Do I

1 use the brakes etc interior dash engine trans complete loom from the BA into the AU
2 use the brakes etc engine trans and a stand alone loom from the BA in the AU
3 use the brakes ETC from the BA into the AU but use a standalone loom for the engine trans etc into the Zephyr?

Thoughts.

Some progress pictures.

Fire wall and transmission tunnel are all welded up as i have removed the SOHC to make way for a BA DOHC.

How much of the BA loom do i need to remove for the conversion? i have retained the dash forward and plan to use the guy on ebay that alters your existing loom, plus a flash for the PCM.
If anyone has done the wiring themselves i would like to hear about what steps to take, i dont need a blow by blow but a bit of advice wouldnt go astray, i have conducted a few searched on this and other forums however actual deatil is a bit light on the ground.
Everything else should be painless as i had already done alot of work for the SOHC, also front brakes sway bar etc will be used from the BA for the AU1 XR6 I scored at work

Some douche bag spilled white paint on the road near my house and i was unlucky enough to drive through it in my FG so i had a fun day on Sunday cleaning the paint off, but i think she came up alright, also anyone else had problems with there FGs, ive had mine for 2 years and have traveled 22000kms the aircon is tempremental (important in Darwin) and i have random fault codes that come and go on my dash also my wheel alignment was terrible from ford and it chewed out my tires, never buy from Hidden Valley ford, customer service is terrible, same place that told me EL hybrids dont exist.

Updates on the Zephyr.
Engine in place, it only worked with the XH - E series mounts on the block, It was is a bit out of wack with the B series mounts and proved more of a squeeze than what the SOHC.
Now to move onto the wiring.

I'm really into Zephyr's and have always wanted to do something like this! Has there been any more progress since your last post?
