Im running a BA pcm from a non abs ute so i can use my gearbox speed sensor. That way I just needed PATS turned off, mil light off and auto disabled with VCM suite which only cost $150

Hi
So you were one of the originals well done. I had to cut the rib on the bonnet I was thinking about slotting engine mounts but then sump would have been close to crossmember. One question for you do you think you will be able to get climate control working. Cheers Steve |

Hey yeah wasn't very common when i did mine
 Think I will just do the bonnet ribs as well. Not like that would even be defected. Also could drop the kframe but doesn't seem ideal too me. Ummm aircon honestly wasn't planning on bothering was gonna rip it out lol but i am thinking of leaving the ef ecu in place that way i can keep the factory dash temp guage and the el tacho feeds off the ecu as well. Im not sure if it will work but if i feed the ef ecu a crank signal from the bf sensor it should give me a tacho but if not ill get an autometer 9117. (I converted my el to ef coil pack ignition) I think the aircon is workable though.. Did you manage to get cruise control working? That's one thing I want to do. Thanks again! fezlane wrote: Hi

Thought you would need air con in bris vegas. Cruise did work until one of the switches broke so have not been using it. Will fix one day though.

My el is my work car and weekender for everything else we use the wifes territory so that has the aircon
 How did you wire up the cruise control?

In regards to the cruise I will have to find my notes but you have to match up the resistor values from the ba units. Will have to have a rummage around will get back to you.

Here is a pic of the motor in its new home. Doesn't run yet sadly i didnt do the pats disable correctly but it should be running today. Does look good in there though!!

Well done good to see its running. I will have a look for cruise notes on the weekend I know they are in the shed somewhere. One thing I do remember iis I had to use an Au clockspring as these are a 4 wire something to do with earths from memeory had to change the plug that goes to airbag will let you know.

Thanks heaps man! Yeah BA ECU is doing only the motor nothing else. EF ECU remains as the temp is sent via data bus to the cluster so needed to keep ECU. Also kept EF ECU so I could piggy back the Crank angle sensor so the tacho still works. Worked a treat saved me buying an autometer 9117
If your good at wiring its not too hard a conversion id set aside about $1500-2000 I did mine for $1600 tuned but got some really cheap prices. (Includes FG manifold, Under drives, Extractors etc) Also set aside about 1 week for the job to do it nicely and thorough. Falcon96XR6 wrote: edfairmont4.0 wrote: Runs now!! Thanks for that fezlane yeah I read somewhere about the AU clock spring as the BA PCM needs a dedicated wire for signal return.

Well It's pretty much complete now! Just need to have the exhaust welded up tomorrow morning to match the new extractors and get it tuned but she's done! Also my bonnet closed without needed modification! wtf! Bonus!
