Funny update - Went to put a different tailpipe with a hotdog on it to see if it sounded any better. Sounded exactly the same :| , so I thought hey, why not go for a run with it dumped straight out of the muffler before the diff, so I did.
But forgot to take the clamp off, which is now lost somewhere down the road so its stuck like that til tomoro or whenever I get another clamp haha.
It doesnt seem that much louder at all, but it now idles at 21in hg instead of high teens... which I found interesting

Did you give up on getting the ISC working on yours?

I've never had it running lol, bought a billet plate agggges ago from a member on here so I could remove it completely.
Not bad luck, just a minor brain failure haha, I thought it was pretty funny.
Drove past a HWP car and he didnt look twice so it cant be that loud.

Is what worth it?
I've got another motor AU motor I just need to put together and I can drop it in with the good head and all should be sweet as again. Its not like its costing me money or using time I dont have, I enjoy working on it.... most of the time.

Exhaust isnt a set back either lol its just a new clamp like 5 bux worth

Also I've now got white LEDs in all the roof lights - dome, reading and the 2 rear ones. I read that it wasnt possible due to the way the BCM controls them... but all you need to do is switch the pos n earth around lol, took like half an hour. Looks good at night with a very nice crisp white light in the car.

hey mate, what LED's did you use for the map lights and rear interior lights?
i know they're a bayonet fitting, but ones i bought were s**t.

Some from ebay, with 5 leds in the head I think.

Got some Lane Ghia doortrims today, padded armrest's and lights :D
Gunna throw my black trim + chrome handles in em, retrim the armrests with black, and spray the woodgrain black (sacrilege I know... woodgrain is mint).

Good to hear! I had issues with mine a fair while back.

I meant the condition of this woodgrain, not woodgrain itself haha. Its like perfect, no scuffs or scratches. I agree though, woodgrain is pox!

Main bearing cap torque spec - does 95nm sound right?
I've got to put the AU motor back together and I couldnt find that mentioned in the workshop manual.

I've also added some Lane doortrims with padded armrests and doorlamps. Re trimmed them in the same black material as the door card inserts, sprayed the wood spears black and fitted the lights with white LEDs as well as illuminating the door handles with another small white LED.
Put power windows in the back as well as I didnt really want to hack the trims up. The original lane door cards are here for a few bucks if anyone wants them.

Has EF Fairmont seats front and back as well now, not much of an upgrade but the grey is better than the original blue/grey seats.

Smartlock issues were fixed with another BEM so thats fine, but the J3 chip has died again I think, it was causing the car to cut out. Removed it and its been fine, I havent re-burned it or fitted it again but it was in there for a while without being touched before it started stuffing up so I'd say its died.

I'm also looking at getting some 19s/20s with dish, just waiting for something to come up on forums or ebay at the right price. My 18s are for sale if anyones interested in them.

Think thats about all thats been going on.

Decided to pull the stock motor from the fairmont out of this car today. All was good until about 3 seconds into it when I tried to reverse out of the shed, something went bang and I had no clutch!

The end of the cable has somehow managed to come off the clutch fork... :? I'm pretty sure its still on the pedal end, I didnt even bother checking it actually, I'll deal with it when I put the AU ticky motor (number 2) in tomorrow.

Took the flywheel in to get machined and some meat taken out of the back of it but the C**k wouldnt do anything other than machine the face flat for me.

Engine #4 is in, needs oil, water and a clutch cable (snapped) and I can take her for a strap.

So new motor has decided to lose oil pressure, fk me.

It was fine a couple of days ago, sat mid range in the gauge... tonight it decided to sit on 1, then drop just below that level into the red zone, light on and dash beeping at me. This is on idle mind you, with a little throttle it sits just above 1, however it doesnt get any higher than that with rpm...
Oil is 10-30, standard stuff for the AU motors..

Any thoughts?

The oil pressure senders are notorious for crapping out. Just check the oil pressure with a mechanical gauge and you will know if the sender is buggered.

I am hoping thats the case, I'm thinking of getting an elec one and placing it over the factory gauge anyway.
