Thanks Callum ! :D Same here, can't wait to see what it brings back from the dyno. Hoping at least 180 rwkw.

Just need to hook the catch can, fit the BOV and connect the boost gauge.

Changed the rear brake fluid yesterday, will do the front once it can go back up the ramps.

Image

Gutted out a spare PCV valve to run a hose to the catch can.

Image

New idea too, no need for a catch can.... Just run it to the passenger and have them suck all the fumes out.

hahaha ! If they are getting some sort of high maybe I could charge the passenger a fee ? It's only fair.

Yep, but to charge a fee you'll need to run a catch can on their lap with the breather on top going to a face mask so get the most out of it. Otherwise they may suck oil in, and I'm guessing you might want to reuse the oil so you don't have to keep topping it up? That's the way I would do it.

Got the intercooler pipe at the welders having a hole field up in one of the pipes and adding an adapter to mount the BOV onto.

So is this thing still going to be tuned with a J3?

Yep still going ahead with the tune on the J3, really do not want to have to replace the ecu.

If all goes to plan it should be on the dyno next friday.

Yeah your lucky to live in Vic where there is quite a few j3 tuners. Up here in QLD there is only one I think. What does your tuning cost you for j3?

You're right it is fortunate that most of the tuners for the J3 are down in Vic, all of them though are about 40 - 60 min drive. So hoping the car is able to make it on that journey without being tuned.

Seems like the going rate is about $600 + depending on the work that needs to be done.

It will be fine, just don't bring the car into boost. I drove mine around with std ecu for about 3 weeks before I had my Microtech but just not boosting. Ran perfectly off boost.

Yeah my tuner is about a 2hr drive from where I live!! Except I always trailered mine down incase of any mishaps.

Yeah I took it for a drive ages back with the old regulator and no intercooler and it drove. It feels better now with everything on properly.
As you said as long as I keep off the boost it should be all good. Phoaw that would have cost you a bit to tow it a few times

Nah not really, $110 to hire car trailer for 24 hrs and used my old mans BA ute to tow it with. Uses a full tank to take it there and back
