Well I'm back in from the cold, the Land Rover sort of cold. I sold the black beast and bought another Ford, this time a BA Fairlane Ghia V8. Picked up the car from Western Sydney for $6000. It's totally stock...for now anyway.

If freight is no more than $100 yes. Quoted for a tyre kicker in Victoria and it was $98.

Goodies that came to my house:







XFORCE twin 2.5 cat back system and some Advance tri-ys. Should free up the motor up a fair bit considering it has cast iron log manifolds and 2 giant pillow sized mufflers on it now.

This just burnt a hole that my wallet will take some recovering from for some time. What sort of supercharger do you have Pete? I'd love one on this, driving this is torque city compared to the crappy little rover V8 I'm used to driving.

VERY nice vehicle that. I love the Fairlane and LTD in this model. I had a friend that bought one and he did so many mods to it that it looked bloody fantastic.

It's funny, when the BA first came out, Ford called the Fairlane a BF.

I finally fitted the extractors and cat back to the car. For anyone out there wanting to stick an aftermarket off the shelf system to an LWB, you need to lengthen the mid section by 3" and the rear section by about the same.

The extractors are far easier to bolt into this car than the pacemakers I fitted to my Boss 260 on my XR8 years ago. The 3V has studs on the heads and I reused the factory steel gasket as the aftermarket ones you get with the extractors have a tendency to blow through.

I'll take a video of the car's sound early next week and stick it up. I'll put some photos up too of the mods done to the system to make it fit. It doesn't sound too bad. It would sound better if the car was a manual but it's early days as it hasn't carboned up yet.

As some here would know, I had a Land Rover and before I sold it, I took out my good sound system which I'll be installing into the Fairlane these school holidays. I have a high end Kenwood 1 din, splits up front and amp with a small Kicker sub to replace the factory one on the parcel shelf.

Don't know what this will end up like snap, probably wont do as much as I did to the station wagon. I know it's sacrilege but as it's my daily, I want to do some sort of LPG injection like what Matt did to his Mav. Might have to call him about that one. When the current tyres are dead I'll grab some new wheels. I'm pretty handy(or was) with a spray gun and like a new colour like Cardinal Red or Seduce but that's long term.

Got to love the exhaust fairy smurf. Every V8 I've owned gets a visit from the fairy

Bugger mate, the timing for me is bad. As much as I'd love to do it, the money I have gets eaten up by school fees, mortgage etc
