do the bottom 2 bolts really matter? or should i use a ba bellhousing? and is it possible to use the ba auto ecu or do i need to get a 5spd?
cheers

BA five speeds have a hydraulic slave cylinder/thrust bearing in one unit, a BA bellhousing wouldn't have a hole in it for the clutch fork like the EB one would. If you're going to be pumping some power through it i'd be doing it properly. As far as i know you can use any BA ECU and have i flashed with manual trans parameters, don't quote me though.

Did you get it sorted yet dude?

Nah mang, given up on trying to get it to work. I'm just going to get it to a point where it's finished and ready to tune, then might take it back to BPT or maybe XFT and see what they can do, i just can't be stuffed anymore :|

Cool, didn't know that about the AU bellhousing.

How much longer do you think until you can hand it over for the tune & fix Fordman351?

I'm slowly rolling along with my projects.....

Cheers

I've read through most of the thread and want to do this to my AU2. With it being manual I shouldn't run into too many transmission problems (hopefully).
I've got a few questions I'm hoping you guys can answer for me:
Is it legal, or only as long as the fuzz doesn't know about it?
I've read the BA engine can drop straight into the AU without any modifications to the frame or engine, can anyone confirm this?
Will BPT be able to sort out the electronic side of the conversion, getting it to play nicely with the AU?
I've currently got a ring-mixer LPG system in the Falcon, is it possible to change the business end to vapour or liquid injection, or does that require a whole new system?

Thanks.

Depends what LPG tank you have, if the business end can be changed to injection easily or not. Will need to talk with some LPG installers to find out for sure.

Engine conversion legal? With an engineers report yes. Shouldn't be hard to get a report on this sort of conversion.

Cheers

Don't know where you are with this but I had a similar symptom whist insalling my Gas, I left the TPS off the throttle body and it ran like crap and no throttle action at all. I would be checking you have not broken a wire to the TPS or a pin has poped out or the sensor is faulty.

Well, not much has happened to be honest, it's just gathering more dust.

I had the rocker cover powdercoated, but after a botched sandblasting and coating job, it went to the bin. So i've had to start all over again, have new fittings welded to it, it's now at a more reputible powdercoater (hopefully), still waiting to get that finished.

ProFlow catch can is installed, when i get the rocker cover back i can plumb it all up.

Bosch 040 fuel pump has replaced the Walbro 341 and Bosch 968 injectors have been thrown in.

Just gathering bits and pieces to make an exhaust which is being fabricated by a mate who will also be making the cooler piping, hoping to begin work on that in the next couple of weeks.

On top of all this my daily VL may possibly be recieving the world most budget turbo setup the world has ever seen...stay tuned.

matt good work getting the bosch pump, much better than the walbro.

i wouldnt worry about XFt/BPT to do your tuning, give Monsta Torque (in malaga, across the road from Kosteki) a call... they should be settled into their new workshop by now i reckon :)

Yeah i've heard more bad things than good about them, so i just bypassed potential hassles and put in a more than capable fuel pump.

Never heard of those guys, what makes and models do they specialise in mainly? I need someone who has full Sniper software (or similar) where i don't need to purchase a flash box.

Anyway, got my rocker-cover back today, was a bit of a b**ch to coat aparantly, as when the coating was baked, the oil that had soaked into the cover kept surfacing, it was re-coated a couple of times, it's something that can't be helped i think. But it's looking good and 100 times better than the other mob did to my other cover, quite happy with the end results.

A mate of mine is coming around to weld up an exhaust for me weekend after next. Stay tuned...
