Think positive, I can't see it not working, the only difficult part is disabling the smartshield, then working out the cluster (leave the original ECU or use a custom BA into an EF shell) the rest is just wiring it up as per the BA wiring diagram.

Thanks for the uplifting comments guys, they really are appreciated.

The BF ECU thing souds interesting, maybe i'll look into it later down the line but i don't know it will be of a benifit to me just yet. We'll see how the B series tuners go in the near future.

Ooo, one question, can i leave the airconditioning compressor in place with the belt around it? Theres no gas in the system, but the clutch isn't goin to be engaged at all. Will this still damage it at all?

That's what i thought, thank's for confirming that. I didn't want to have to go size up another belt. I don't think the aircon will be connected up for a while yet.

you will find the air con won't actually turn on if there is no gas in it IIRC. theres a sensor to not allow the clutch to engage in case there is a leak

It should have a low pressure switch that should stop the clutch from engaging, best leave the clutch wire off anyway just to be sure.

You and me both! I'm just about climbing up the wall from not being able to drive my car. I'm driving a poverty pack '07 Rodeo at the moment, a 2.4L petrol stripper. No power windows, no central locking, no power mirrors. At least it has aircon and a cd player....at least  .

Well tomorrow is THE big day! I'm picking up the car trailer tomorrow morning at 7:30am and making the 270km one way journey to BPT in Perth where i will leave my pride and joy in capable hands.

Yair i know, i'm scared haha. I have towed another Falcon on a trailer before but that was down the road for about 10km's. I've never done long distance towing in peak hour, inner city traffic, on a freeway........ :( *gulp* . It seems that 90-95km/h is the max semi-comfortable speed. My worst nightmare is tow hitch failure!

yeah not the best vehicle...

im no expert but

keep the speed down...well down..
find the limit by experimenting a bit and then do not exceed it....watch for speed wobbles and trucks
