this is what you want to do, its pretty simple.

Get the XR6T-XR8 Snorkal & BA Intake From T/body to air box and do this to your airbox lid.

thats 75mm opening beats stock hands down

Try Jim Mock performance for engine mods, they specialise in ford 6cyl engines and are in Victoria...Vito.

Id get a cms cam posted down and have jmm put it in and get it installed right. jmm cams dont have the same drag strip rep as cms cams. saves a trip to sydney this way and you get a proven performance part. wade are a good option too now that they are doing au grinds. they are cheaper than both mock and cms. waiting to see results on gezza220's au wade cam before making judgement on it.

new update...
pacie 4499s, high flow metal cat and the redback cat-back system inlet modified to 2.5"

I've found it goes ALOT harder.. not much change in sound but it took a while with the cat-back so ill give it time...

also might have myself a whole genuine T2 TS50 Kit (minus rear spoiler) would look pretty good i think... a white T2 TS50...

I too have had many frustrations with torx bolts. Jaycar sell a little red box for $20 with over 100 torx bits. Best $20 I've spent never found a bolt I can't undo! Sweet looking car dude
