yeah i do hate the look of the big rear side windows

the rears look good when they are slammed :) but yes i see your point about them all looking the same, but as i have an EA wagon i dont mind as my styling is the same so it looks like an EL from the rear ;) haha

one way to know what it is, is you look at the reverse lights, EA-ED use clear, EF/EL have a smoked look, also the falcon/fairmont etc badges change throughout the models

Good call huggiebear! I too though the early E series looked pretty boring until i seen a GT, then i seen the Xr with the quad lights. Dropped over nice rims they look the goods. But i could be a little biased.

Hmmm, I don't agree mate. I like the rear quarter of the wagon. But then, being Black, it does get the a*** comments occasionally.
It's not because it's black you're getting a*** comments matey... It's the high rear side window and straight as back window... Promise.

The body colour side strips and panel over the rear pillar were standard on EF Fairmont Wagons. At least, my dynamic white example was white all over... I have stuck with black on these bits on the current car as I always intending to do the window tint on the rears and feel it would look better... Like the Subarus with no visible rear pillar. Kind of.

Yeah. If you have an EA it would be a good idea to put the EL lights in the back...

Yeah yeah. When the average joe gets over taken by me they think "old crap" and drive just that little bit faster than they usually would in order to prove to themselves that their car is newer than mine.
F'ing funny when the cars concerned are Mitsi evo's and dumped on chromies Soobies. Really funny, I kid you not.

Only thing I don't like is that tyre smoke looks like it's come the exhaust sometimes.....*1

Fair enough. I, however, have a 1200w amp, 6x9's, a six cylinder block, all my tools (which are proven to be enough to remove, strip, install and panel beat a motor), enough stuff to build a house, my suit, two desktop computers, three keyboards, various other s**t like axle stands, block and tackle and enough food for a week in the back. And that's without anything in the cabin at all (both back seats up). There is still room there for more.

And guess what? The bloody thing doesn't even look like it's carrying a dozen beer, never mind all that.

Went to the tip today. 2350KG on the way in (two people in car, NOTHING in back seats). On the way out was 2160.

Wagons are ugly. Wagons rock. I love wagons.

That actually looks more like a Subaru that any other Ford I have ever seen. The wagons would look better as Subaru's than the sedans... Someone with a half decent glass cutter could happily cut a few inches off the top of my windows and I could drop some metal down to match.

Once again, it has the GT front bar. And, I agree with ToranaMan, the XR's started looking fully sic bra.

And there is another page of utter dribble.

Do it Troy. Put the ported and polished up Tickford head on it and you'll like it so much you'll end up giving her the sedan....

Can I remind everyone about the 17x8's with 235 and 255's on them, rear swaybar, one tonne leafs, 60 odd mm of lowering, LSD, fatter front sway bar and progressive front sports springs before you all start jumping up and down on the entity that was once Fiend.

Believe it or not some people are a little impressed with the way the wagons handle now.

Standard?
Killer.

Modified?
Killah.

RE: tail lights, if someone is willing to send me a set for $50 ill throw them on, apart from that i wnt be doing it, i spent $7 on pin striping and make them look presentable IMO, stuff spending 80 bucks on tail lights just because the indicators are clear.. id prefere to upgrade audio or paint my GT bar instead of clear indicators.. front indicators should only be about 2 weeks away ;)

Very much the idea. If only it had rear seat access... And the bloody people in the back would probably demand to have a working window. Sigh.

f**k giving the head away lol..i have good plans for that, that is one thing that puts me off the wagons is the leaf springs.
but looking at what you have done it does inspire one...then another thing thats a** with the sedan is my 2 "12 subs take half my boot up...can never win. tho if i had the money i'd go buy a F-150 lightening, but i dont so bugger
and your wagon does look the goods i was just saying standard don't.

because 80 bucks is a stupid price for a clear bit of plastic you can tint 6 pairs of amber tail lights for the same price as 1 pair of second hand clear ones

Looks good man, seen a EF or EL wagon done like the "sedan delivery" of the 60's sitting outside the pickles auctions in Tullamarine a few mths back, was sweet. I have also seen a properly converted wagon, into a E series ute!

Cheers

Now that's a coincidence, I just saw the one you linked on Sunday in Fielding when I was picking up my bike, just about 20 houses down the road from where we were getting it. Caused much confusion in the holden/Ford/Aprilia/mitsi democracy split Libero GT we were all travelling in...

I'm a Ford / Aprilia man myself. Although this EF panel van idea is a good one, it does look awfully like a f**k up Holden at first viewing!

I have Ford fuzzy dice from Christmas '09 and an Aprilia pit crew hat from the mid 90's.

Hey - Stuff screwing porn stars via USB for a while. I have to organise myself somewhere to live near Masseys town campus (how's your couch by the way?) as I finally heard back and they definitely want me to do three level one papers (drawing - easy ; Materials and Model Construction - Interesting - Will be a learning curve and "Applied theory of industrial design, emphasising a creative approach to human-centred design of manufactured products." - WTF?!)

Have to get car warranted and rego'd as get license back next week.

Will look at deleting the wagons horrible rear window and cabin doors next year.

There is a guy in Hamiltron making these - I got a quote of $250 for the front lip by itself. Unfortunately the seller here says "pick up only" and that is about $300 in petrol away....
