meguiars professional medium cutting compound, and a 7" grinder (low speed for polishing etc) basically wet the panel a lil for lubrication (use spray bottle) put the compound on the buffing pad and start the machine up and go over the panels, once it dries a lil give a lil force to get a really nice shine. i used a old towl (soft) to wipe down afterwards as my microfiber cloths went walkies.

then basically give it a going over with a lambswool buffing pad, then i changed to a softer foam pad and repeated the process with the sealer/show finish conditioner

well i got bored last night and started ripping the head off, after inspection it seems the head was on its way out. corrosion in some spots wasnt the best. but i bought new gaskets and threw some new injectors in, new oil filter and threw it all back together.... as you all may know that when you have the exposed throttle bodie you get the loud hissing noise as the air gets sucked in. well it never used to have that.. now its hell loud.

i still need to replace the plugs as these are old and s**t. anyways. here is pics

Nice job there Huggie.

Now you need some thermo fans, and EL upper thermo housing and top radiator hose, and an XH intake snorkle.

well i got a PM from another member telling me to pop round and pick up some parts from a wreck, so i poped into brisbane on saturday and came home with a small pile of goodies.

one of which was a velour rear seat which i fitted today. also on the list was window trims so it stops scratching the glass. not much to go now. picking up some front shocks next weekend. today i also degreased the motor, fixed the oil leak (loose bolt) and removed the rear speakers. i still have to fit the new selector as the old one is dodgy but i cant get the handle off lol.

here is some pics
Image
half matches the front. hoping to grab the fronts next weekend to match the rear

and my little helper couldnt do it without his help

Ah! Good save huggie! Long live the mighty boxcar :D
I just re-arranged my cars on the weekend and threw the old white EB out to the back yard for storage. Will be a future project because I just couldn't part with it, the body is too good, but motor is rooted.
I will be watching this one with interest and may steal a few of your idea's
Here's where the monty will be sleeping for a while.

Mate. I have 3. I'd rather tuck this one away for a rainy day, because the other options were to sell it for next to nothing or part it out. It won't stay under covers too long.
Keen to see what your gunna do with the sub..... my boot install thread died in the a**, so i'll just have to steal others ideas

Ah well! Won't be stealing that idea! Good luck with it though, will be interesting to see the end product.
