Just a thought....the aux guages...get some PVC pipe and cut them on an angle to remount the guages so they face you, instead of the rear......just a thought.....and position them so the needles are straight up ( at operating RPM or temps, etc), so at a quick glance, all up, all good.

indeed, my boost gauge is flat and sometimes have to have a second glance, would piss me off majorly if it was under race conditions

Go Girl! Great to see a build thread for a saloon car. Looking forward to seeing results on the track!

this is awesome. shame the kit was badly damaged.

i have always wanted a saloon car.. maybe after the lane gets boost ill look into it some more.

i could have missed it, but whats inside the motor apart from the pistons? what cam is it running and will you add boost later on?

Be interesting to hear what power you have out of it...

At least being a spool it'll be predictable when you corner and flatten it... You'll be able to hang some nice sideways action on the way out of the corners and please the crowd... But only when your leading and have a safe gap to be showing off... ;)

Flash brakes, did they end up costing over 2k, one day I might like some big ones for my car but I may just never have the money too... Do they retain e series offset, or are you running au offset wheels?

Goodluck with the racing...

My only question is why go throught the time and expense of building one when you could have bought one that's ready to race for $6-8k?

You guys race with glass down in vic?

All our local race cars here, production, modified, and gossers all have no glass, generally no inner mudguards and are all barred right from front bumper to rear bumper...

Your class isn't that strict? You running straight fuel or avgas or something higher performance?

I'll never be getting big brakes if that's what they're worth... Trouble is, big wheel makes std brakes look small, big brakes make big wheels look small... So you never win anyway (in terms of look), yours are there for a different reason though...

The reason is some people like making the things themselves... You get more satisfaction out of saying, I built this from scratch... No matter what the cost... Rather than saying oh I picked it up second hand for 6k...

Cheers...

why pick up one ready to race thats been flogged? and prob jave to spend money to have shocks changed and maybe engine rebuilt again thats ganna cost another 3grand and more?

I know this car is all new and i feel safe knowing it doesnt have like bog throughout the car that may have been in accident before....

when i got my corolla got told it had been rebuilt but 2 raced in it blew up and found it wasnt true... sooo yeah it was well worth starting from scratch and i get my kicks from knowing its ganna be an awesome car

yes; there is glass in windows i think u can use perspex if u choose too... i think not sure i just got people to do stuff lol
