Good work, did you get a rwkw on it ?

Your only running pacemakers? Or is tha controlled as well asi thought alotof the eseries had custom extractors as that's where alot of the power is gained from?

I would usually be there but Sarah will probably be in labour then and she would kill me if I went racing instead of being at the birth :(

Has anyone given you some in car footage to go over Katty and learn lines and breaking markers ???? If not let me know and I will send you some to look over. It will help alot. I did this before my first time at the Island and I was on the pace after 2 laps in Saturday practice :D

For people who dont know... My EA blew up @ the Island! Reason why.... Workmanship! Found out old oil pump was in there... some rods were facing wrong way.... screws were loose... wrong parts used.... pistons were totally sezied! Not happy Jan!

Anyways dad decided to do it himself... and change everything... we also got an engine given to us... very happy for that... Car is back up and running and ready for the 20th of this month for Winton with Maserati Club YAY

Me is hoping nothing goes wrong this time around... But knowing my dad skills... It will just perfect

mmmmmmmmmmmm. You really need to stop blaming the engine builder. Maybe, just maybe there was a couple of things not done correctly but they didn't cause the engine failure. No engine could handle running without the water pump operating. Massive engine temprature is what caused the failure. The engine temprature was caused by your alternator belt coming off which should have made the alternator light on the dash come on which also runs the water pump so as soon as this light came on the engine should have been shut down. As it wasn't shut down the temprature guage would have read off the dial and still the engine wasn't shut down.

Don't want to sound harsh but instead of blaming faulty workmanship you need to take the blame as the driver not reading all the nessasary warnings put infront of you.

You are only learning and can use that as an excuse but make sure you learn from it. The way you are blaming everyone but yourself indicates that maybe you haven't learnt from it.

My advise. Stop blaming everyone else, admit what really happened, learn from it and move on. Nobody wants to hear you putting down the engine builder as he has been around motorsport alot of years and has alot of friends and a lifetime of knowledge.

wow you really want her to take the blame dont you...

and another thing is you dont want to shut down a motor when the temp is in the red, you need to cool the motor before hand by running cold water through the system or across the radiator otherwise it will seize the pistons. but im sure you know that

so you are out on a race track racing, you are saying the best thing to do is keep going until you find a tap?
then you pour cold water into an overheated engine.
let me know how that works out for you.

well if you read above the motor was still full of water so pouring it over the radiator would be better then just shutting it off...

feel free to just turn yours off and let us know how it goes

much rather replace a head then a full motor

If the water pump wasnt functioning due to a broken belt running water over the radiator would not have achieved a thing..........

Under the circumstances the motor should of been shut down as soon as the temp went up or at least taken back into the pits as soon as the temp started rising to see why.

keep it running and you are at risk of a piston overheating to the point it expands and grabs in the bore, which is probably whats happened here.
