Sand the earth point at the top of the dash back & re-bolt it down, it's probably a tad dirty. Also check the earth point in the boot near the tail light, they tend to rust up over the years.

Cheers

Well I ran out of time today to do the new earth wire as it stated to rain, I did thought find 2 snipped wires behind the dash. 1 was a earth witch was bolted straight to the floor, the other wire was a positive straight from the battery Wich I removed as it was just untidy and it served no purpose.
By the way thanks toranaguy I'll clean the earth points up and see if that helps

Well the tickford head is going on my dads ef fairmont. As it's kind of a priority over the ltd. Doesn't madder though. I'll find another good condition, head lol. If anyone has one let me know :)
I've also scored my self some ba xr6 wheels off my dad, as he bought a v8 au fairmont ghia and it had them on it. All I have to do is find him a set of original 16inch fairmont ghia wheels and there mine :)
