Don't forget to get the flywheel ground, before fitting the new clutch, or the warranty on the new clutch will be void. There are 2 different bolt pattern, 6 bolt clutch covers, make sure you get the right one. I have posted photos showing the difference.
The closer together one is my EA flywheel, that was a 3 bolt, but I drilled & tapped it for a 6 bolt that I was sold new, a PBR RPM clutch kit.....doesn't slip either, and has more pedal effort than a std one though.

The guy I got the flywheel from had a clutch done at a mechanical repair joint, and they didn't bother grinding the flywhhel, so when it was slipping the guy took it back and got the flywheel machined, but they didn't replace the worn clutch fork, worn out snout, worn plate and shoulder bolt....the fork could fall out on its own...
There some bodgie mechanics about.....
The mechanic that had that place has since shut and moved to Brisbane......beware down there.

After a couple of weeks of driving the car with the auto ECU and the resistor trick......Its not really behaving itself...so today I fitted the ED manual ECU, adjusted the timing, stiffened up the rear exhaust mount.....now to see how that goes now.

Very cool. It's nice getting things fixed on ya car isn't it? I just finished fixing my central locking & a couple power windows, time to move onto other tasks now, there is always something to do.

Cheers

Just had a read through this thread. I love the amount of effort you've put into every little task, no matter how minor it is. Cleaning and painting everything before putting it back together.

Love the work. Hope you get the computer issues sorted.

Computer issues are sorted, and tomorrow she goes on the dyno for a run see where it is at, and make adjustments from there.
The same set-up that was in the 88EA, now lives in the ED, except for the bottom end, original 4.0 ED. The EA made 186 rwhp...will be interesting, no rattles in the bottom end, no rattles in the top end.....might be good for 2 or 3 hp with out rattles......LOL

Took the ED to the dyno...got 193 rwhp. On the ol EA it made 186 rwhp at 173 kmh, the ED made 193 rwhp at 163 kmh. The emissions are on the rich side, so it is possible to crack 200 rwhp when I get it sorted.
I'm waiting for youtube to finish processing, then I will post the link to show it.

It's done.....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TRJrzNW4WuI
