comming along well mate.

is the dumper pipe just for sound or do you get more power out of it?

did you cut the end of the muffler off to bold the dumper pipe on then weld the end back on the muffler, it just looks that way in the pic?

why do you need cat bolts for your cam? 8.8's are plenty strong, the 10.9's they put them on catapillers because they go through a lot more strenous work than your standerd car. not that it matters being a mechanic you prolly got them cheap through work.

I have seen the heads come off the cam bolts before, so, brand new bolt for me.
The dumper is more for sound, and the dumper is bolted on, as in flange to flange, so if need be, I can still put the tailpipe on, everything that appears to be butchered, isn't, it can be returned to standard.

What do mean there's not enough E series getting around???? Theres heaps of them......LOL

I haven't got there yet, taking outside shots. The car needs a cut & polish, has heaps of overspray on it......CAT Yellow to be precise......LOL.

What was the cost of the port and polish on the EA head? Am guessing you removed and fitted the head yourself, and just took it to a workshop.

Did you do this before or after cam? What cam do you have in it?

Fair enough about you seeing them ripeed of before mate, the car in question must have been given quite a bit i can onley amagine lol.

re: a sound file of your dumper pipe, most mobile phones have a sound recorder these days if yours does you shud be able to transfer it to your computer and add it to a post the sam way you add a pic

I did the head myself, port & polish & fitting the head.
The cam is an EA 3.9 std unit, but I have fitted the rocker gear off the ED 4.0 on it.
This is the reason i'm using an EA cam:
Inlet..........opens _ BTC................................17dgs
closes _ ABC................................63dgs
Exhaust opens _ BBC................................65dgs
closes _ ATC................................11dgs

4.0 std cam
Inlet..........opens _ BTC................................16dgs
closes _ ABC................................56dgs
Exhaust opens _ BBC................................62dgs
closes _ ATC................................14dgs

They have the same lift.

As long as the boot seal is in good order, and the grommets are still in the spare tyre well, and things like that, not a problem.
