I changed the engine oil today too, put some Nulon EOF through it.
I used a Motorcraft filter this time , used a Ryco last time...and I noticed the holes in the Ford filter were bigger than the Ryco one. The oils done 2,000km as had the filter. You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Thats interesting with the bigger holes in the motorcraft oil filter. Im not convinced it would make much difference if any though.
So have you just got the car back on the road or have you been driving around between work being done on the ED? |

Bigger holes means more flow....think about hydraulics...carbys...bigger jets, more fuel...etc.. The clean oil is Mitsubishi 15W50 engine oil...its green as you can see. I had Penrite in it before...HPR15....its $35 a bottle....Mits is $23 a bottle.....and I use it in the missuses car, and it is as clean as a whistle...104K on it.

OK, had a go at recording the exhaust noise...sounds like crap!!!...I used my Optio S10 digital camera...maybe has something to do with it???

Well, I'm fixing the A/C and puting in the manual pedal box at the same time. The Evapourator is stuffed ( had the system tested.). Took some pics.
There's 16 yrs of crud in there......LOL. I'll have to replace all the foam seals too, the have perished and turned to dust. You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

I've been workin on the ED all day today. The A/C evapourator is fitted, all new foam seals fitted, fan & motor cleaned out, evapourator case cleaned out, Moristech interceptor fitted, EA manual pedal box fitted with clutch cable ( had to cut a hole in the firewall noise mat and pull out gromet ), Manual ED ECU and matching Smartlock module fitted, remove auto tranny control unit, complete dash assembly fitted back in.
Removed the auto tranny and cooler lines. Fitted the flywheel ( EA ) and clutch ( PBR RPM ) as well as a new spigot bearing. Also fitted a new shoulder bolt and plate for the clutch fork pivot. Also fitted a new clutch cable hook/insulator to the fork. I have an ED flywheel and the ol EA flywheel, and the bolt spacings are different. I had quite some time ago drilled and tapped 3 extra holes for this particular clutch in the EA flywheel, and I noticed it has holes for a V8 clutch but they are not tapped. I filled the gearbox up before I put it in. I used 500ml of Castrol VMX80, a 125ml tube of Nulon G70, and the rest is DEX III ATF. Hopefully tomorrow it will be a goer. Its all done now the manual conversion, but still using the ED auto ECU.
Just got to finish the A/C side of now, flushing the lines out, and the Condencer, remove Reciever/Dryer.

I made a small heat shield for the clutch cable and to deflect a little heat from the brake booster too. I made it from alloy sheet.
It doesn't touch the extractors at the bottom, there is a bracket holding it out about 25mm. You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Jeez you've been busy mate, good to hear the T5 conversion is all done. Good thinking with the heat shield too, i think i may need to knock one up to keep the heat away from my booster in the EF.

EF/EL boosters are plastic.....changed out a few of those that have split, all of them at the 5 o'clock mark too.
